A Fourth of July Reflection
A Fourth of July Reflection
As the Fourth of July approaches, a day filled with joy, celebration, and a sense of unity, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey my family has undertaken. Our path, shaped by the birth of our son with a congenital heart defect, has led us to create something beautiful, something that intertwines our love for coffee, compassion for others, and the power of hope. It is with immense gratitude and a heart full of love that I share our story and the birth of "One More Brew" (OMB), serving delightful coffee while supporting families impacted by Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs).
The Fourth of July reminds us of the importance of family and friends, those bonds that strengthen us through thick and thin. Our journey with our son's health struggles has reaffirmed the significance of these connections in our lives. It is our family and friends who have stood by us, offering unwavering support, love, and encouragement. Their presence has been instrumental in helping us navigate the uncertainties, and their belief in our vision has fueled our determination to make a difference. Today, we raise our cups of coffee to them, celebrating their unwavering presence in our lives.
The phrase "One More Beat" encapsulates the essence of our journey and the unyielding hope it represents. It originated as a plea for strength and resilience as we faced the challenges of our son's condition. Through the ups and downs, it evolved into a powerful manifestation of positivity, hope, and gratitude. Our son, now a remarkable young man, embodies the spirit of One More Beat. His vitality, health, and gratitude for life inspire us every day. It is his unwavering request for "One More Beat" that propels us forward, reminding us of the countless families and children who continue to fight CHDs. With OMB, we have found a way to translate that spirit into action.
Driven by our desire to help families like ours who are impacted by CHDs, we embarked on a mission to create a space where love, support, and delicious coffee intertwine. Thus, One More Brew was born. With every cup of coffee served we are contributing to a greater cause. A portion of our proceeds goes towards supporting research, providing financial assistance to families in need, and raising awareness about CHDs. Our hope is that through One More Brew, we can be a beacon of hope and solidarity, standing beside families fighting CHDs, reminding them that they are not alone.
As we celebrate the Fourth of July, surrounded by family, friends, and the spirit of unity, let us also take a moment to reflect on the journeys that have shaped our lives. Let us remember those who have supported us through thick and thin and honor the unyielding strength of families impacted by CHDs, and we can make a difference, one cup at a time. Together, let us raise our voices, celebrate life, and ask the universe for One More Beat. Happy Fourth of July!
